Relevance To Your Organisation
Consider the following situations. They represent opportunities for Directors and Managers to generate better results for the organisation. It is our experience that key people welcome assistance at such times and that the business and the people within it benefit from the engagement in Discovery Coaching.
Do you have managers who are ‘doing OK’ – but you know they are capable of much more?
Reliable and hardworking - they are key members of your management team. Nothing is wrong…its just that you know things could be much more right. They have the potential to contribute more and the business would benefit greatly from the added value they could bring.
Do some managers have a role that is now much bigger than it used to be?
The job, the responsibilities and the challenges have grown over time. The reason may be growth, success, new products, new services – whatever the reason, managers are being stretched. They need to ‘move up a gear’ and they know it. They are willing – they just need some assistance to do it.
Are managers facing significant change?
Whatever the reason for it – ‘change’ is creating challenges and obstacles. There is a need for managers to drive the change, to manage it and gain success from it – but like others they are being disoriented by it. They need clarity of focus and the tactics to gain control and start benefiting from the changes.
Are some of your managers efficient…but not effective?
Systems, procedures and processes are being followed to the full – but you are not getting the success that you need. The focus appears to be on ‘doing what you asked’ rather than doing what it takes to succeed. Such managers need to be provoked into seeing things through a different set of eyes so that they can apply their skills, knowledge and experience in a more productive way.
Are some managers brilliant technically…but are struggling with management issues?
Many managers progress their careers due to their technical knowledge, skills or experience and whilst they excelled in this area – they find management a whole new ballpark.
Often they assume that everyone else will work as hard as they did, be as interested as they were and work on their own initiative – as they did. They do not focus therefore on smart management practices, techniques and processes – and this hinders success.
Do some managers lack ‘people skills’?
Such managers don’t have good ‘people management’ skills and genuinely do not see the problems they create, motivation they stifle or success that they hinder.
You may have also noticed some situations where the dynamics and outputs of management teams could be better…
Are some management teams made up of exceptional individuals…but they don’t work well together?
The sum of the parts should create an outstanding ‘whole’ …but it is not working. Team leadership, clarity of purpose, communication and team dynamics may well be working against the team rather than for it.
Do management teams have good vision…but struggle with the implementation?
They know what they want to achieve…they are right…it is good for the business…but it just does not seem to be happening.
A Discovery Coaching programme will yield great returns if you recognise these ‘indicators’ in your organisation. Management Coaching is designed to address them.
